Brickset also goes on to say that Lego usually unveils the January exclusive at the Fan Weekend in Denmark which is next weekend!  Woohoo!

According to YouTuber Just2Good we are getting a Ghostbusters Firehouse HeadQuartes set in January of 2016.   It is rumored to have the following features.

  • 4600 Pieces
  • Cost $350 US
  • Detailed Interior and Exterior
  • Based on the Original Film and not the new Film
  • It also appears that it will be based on one of the Lego Ideas sets
  • No worf on what minifigures that will be included.  I wonder if Stay Puff will be included.  That would explain part of the piece count.

This ideas set was here.

It is not supposed to be taking place of the 2016 Modular Building and more inline with and extra one like was the case with the Haunted House.

I am hopeful that it is large enough to go with the Ecto one set that they released this year earlier.

Here is the video announcing this as well as another potential image.

This pic is from the other ideas set that came out here.

This make sense with the Lego Dimensions Ghostbusters sets that will be released early next year as well.

  1. I’m guessing this is either B.S., the piece count is incorrect, or your price is WAY off.

  2. I am hoping that the price and the piece count are good because they will need that many pieces to do this set any justice. But I am also concerned that this is the case. However, I think we will know next week.

  3. How do you figure? The Ecto-1 cost $50. The Sydney Opera House cost $350. Someone has already created a very detailed GB firehouse that fits the official Lego Ecto-1. It uses over 5700 parts. So I get the feeling that their info is not too far off.

  4. I look forward to being proven wrong, but most Lego sets, not even THEMED sets, average $0.10/piece. At this price point, it’s $0.08. Sydney Opera house ~0.11/piece, Ecto -1 is ~0.10/piece, Marvel Hellicarrier is almost ~0.12/piece. I hope this is true, I’d love to have one, and maybe the smaller pieces will drive the price down, but being a licensed set, I have a hard time believing the piece count ( of course, the Parisian restaurant and Detective office are about 0.07/piece, so anything is possible?)

  5. Price/piece goes down significantly if it uses tons of a single element. The Taj Mahal is the largest set ever produced at ~6000pcs, but it only cost a measly $300, putting it in the range of non-themed basic part buckets. This looks to have a substantial number of dark-red bricks, which probably accounts for a lot of that. The Danish Krone is also really week against the US Dollar right now, so it’s not surprising to see some of the prices swing back in our favor after seeing releases like the UCS SSD come in at $400 for ~3000pcs.

  6. I wish I had bought one of those. I know alot of people like it, but it was just not my taste at the time. However, I would have liked a few thousand of these pieces to make Moc’s out of.
