Lego Avengers GameStop Bonus Silver Centurion Exclusive Iron Man Minifigure

Earlier today, this new exclusive Silver Centurion Minifigure was leaked?? on Matt Rickerd’s Flickr page.  He said that he found the display at his local Gamestop store.

This figure is know as the Iron Man Mark XXXIII or The Silver Centurion.  It looks like it is using a few Chima pieces and that it has some really nice printing on the legs and arms.  I am excited to see an actual picture of this figure.

Silver Centurion

I imagine that we should start seeing more of these shortly as Gamestop starts putting up these displays everywhere, but this is the first that we have seen.  I checked my local Gamestop in IL, but no dice yet.  I may aske them again tomorrow when I go to Target  which is next store.  I also checked online at the Gamestop website to see if it was listed and I did not find it online either.

This is another sure to be blockbuster title from ttgames.  I am excited that they produced the game because it means that we will be getting some more of the Acrylic blocks that ttgames gives away when the finish a video game.  I do not own any of these, but I have managed to hunt down and list out at least 51 different ones of these here.

Here is the link to the game at Gamestop.  It is currently stating that the release date is 12/31/2015.   This has to be incorrect as everywhere lese is listing this with a fall 2015 release date.  Also, this would completely miss the Christmas shopping season.  Target is listing this with a release date of November 3rd, 2015.  That makes more sense.

I sure hope the make a Thing minifigure.

2015 LEGO Brand Retail Manager’s Conference Exclusive Zombie Minifigure Giveaway

I recently found a few links to this figure that was given away at the 2015 Lego Brand Retail Manager’s Conference that was held in Houston Texas in May 2015.  This may also be called the Lego Idea Conference?  I am not sure.

All of the links appear to be sourced by this article at thebrickfan.com

http://www.thebrickfan.com/2015-lego-brand-retail-managers-conference-exclusive-minifigure/

Based on the article, it appears that store managers that attended this conference were given this exclusive minifigure.  I usually pass on these figures as they are usually not that cool and really hard to get your hand on, but I have found myself looking on eBay to see if any are listed over the past few days.

I will also see if it shows up on Bricklink and add it to the price guide.   I am pretty sure that this will quickly make the list of the top 100 lego minfigures and stay on it as I have only seen one of them so far.

I wonder what this one will go for?

http://www.minifigpriceguide.com/Top100LegoMinifigures.html

It looks a little bit like this one?

I wonder how many of these were given out?

It does not look like this was the first exclusive or at least partially exclusive figure given away at this conference in the past.  This one appears to be from the 2011 conference.

I have also found it in a few other places as well.

New Official Lego Minifigure Display Cases Coming Number 4066

This post and site contains Affiliate links. I may earn a small commission if you click on them. Click here for more details.

If you are reading this site, you are most likely an avid minifigure collector.  And like Peanut Butter and Jelly, you are most likely constantly looking for a way to display all of your minifigures.

This has been a battle for me for years and I am always looking for a new way to display my minifigures.  I have recently been using a custom built solution for all of my figures and the large Lego minifigure display cases for the ones on deck while I am assembling the cases.

Here is an example of the cases that I currently use.   It is made completely out of Legos, but primarily out of Lego part number 30528.  You can see this part on bricklink here.  This is the display that I am using for my Lego Movie Minifigures and some of my collectible minifigures.

However, I have been having a real hard time finding the Large Minifigure Display Cases at stores and it appears that they have been discontinued.  Currenlty, I have only been able to find a few in either red or yellow at Toys R Us.  I am currently using the blue and the black ones only right now.Lego New Minifigure Display Case 4066 Large with figures

It looks like this is because Lego is coming out with a new case.  This new version of the Large Minifigure Display case has recenly been found over at Smyths Toys in the UK.

Lego New Minifigure Display Case 4066 Large

On first review of the photos posted, this case looks pretty nice.  I will be happy to try a few of these out.  I did notice a few things though.

It appears to be a different size that they old version

If you look at the sizes on the new case, it is 19L X 38W X 4H cm.  However, the old cases were 42 cm W and only 18c H.  I am hoping that this is just a typo and that they will stack with the old ones.  Otherwise, that would really make me unhappy.

A few other notable differences are the following.

  • It looks like it has two doors that open to the sides instead of one that opens down.
  • It looks like the plates are either snap on or permanently affixed to the case?  I am not sure and we will need to look at the final product to be sure.
  • The cases are clear on all four sides.
  • The cases do not appear to come with the feet to stabilize them for standing on a desk?  I am not sure about this.

Here is a picture of the new small one on top of the large one as well.  It looks like they were designed by this guy.

Finally, as many of you know, I am an avid collector of minifigures.  Sometimes, I wonder what my real passion is, collecting the minifigures, or creating and looking for new display stands to display the minifigures.

If not for my wife, I think I may have created a whole wall in my living room to show them all off.  I had an idea ones that I still think is a good idea, but it did now go over well with my wife.  The idea was to do the following.

“Cut out the drywall inbetween a few studs and put in a nice wood case with shelves on it.  Then cover this up with a piece of glass so that you had a recessed case that is flush with the wall and enclosed in glass.”

Oh well, as you can guess, she did not like it.  Anyways, her is my virtual collection of every good display case that I have ever found.

Limited Edition 1 of 100 Gold Chrome C-3P0 Lego Club Australia

Here is one that just posted on eBay

Does anyone know any more about these figures.  It appears that 100 of these were given away as part of a give-away in Australia.  Either as part of a competition in an Australian Lego Club Magazine, or as a Toys-R-Us give-away.  Or as both.    It also appears that the winners were notified in November 2007 when they received the prize in the mail.

The users were required to submit an entry answering the question “Why is C-3PO Gold?”

The figure is identical to the Gold C-3PO that was given away in the US and Canada, except that it is shrink wrapped in a special card board packaging that was limited to this small production run of 100.

I did add both of these to the price guide as I think that they are two different collectible items and that they both fall into the minifigure category.  I apologize if that is a stretch for a few of you, but it is how I classified it in my head.

and

Finally, you can see where these fall in the top 100 figures here.

http://www.minifigpriceguide.com/Top100LegoMinifigures.html

One benefit of this particular packaging is that you do not need to remove it from it package to display it.  I know that I toiled over the decision for about 10 minutes before I opened up my c-3p0 bag and pulled out the minifigure to add to my display case.   However, that was when it was still going for $60-$80 and not $350.

You could even send it to one of the grading authority companies and have it graded on the card as is and wrapped in acrylic for long term display.  I think that would be a sweet addition to any collection.  I have a few graded figures and this one in particular would look really sweet encased in acrylic.

I have been eyeing these up over the past several years as a potential addition to my collection, but they are a little to rare, a little too pricey or they are in Australia and I hate trying to ship things across the ocean that are expensive.  Too many damaged packages over the years.

The outside of the mailer that they arrived in is pretty plain.  Comes with a Lego Postage Sticker in a plain Brown Envelope.  Here is the front.  Just ignore the white block on the front of the envelope.  I covered up the address on the picture.

And the Back of the mailer just has the return address to the  Lego Club Australia.  I wonder if I send them a letter if they will send me one of these?  I doubt it.

The back of the actual card packaging is nothing special either.  It says 2007 Lucasfilm ltd & TM. All rights reserved.  @2007 The Lego Group.  In the bottom corner.

Inside the mailer with the carder figure was the letter shown below.

Here is the text from the letter.

“You have one one of 100 Special Edition Metallic Gold C-3PO mini figures!  We received a great number of entries with many clever responses to our competition question why C-3P0 is “Gold”.

Yours of course is one of our favourites, so please enjoy the special, exclusive prize!

Look out for the next exciting issue of the LEGO Club magazine coming in December!

Happy Reading!

Max”

I believe that these are currently worth between 1000 and 2500 based on what they have sold for in the past.  However given that only 100 exist.  They will go up a little as each one is put into someones collection and is stashed away.  In the Lego world, 100 is a pretty limited number.
