Lego Star Wars Pen Minifigures Chrome C-3PO

Back in the day when I collected everything Lego Star Wars, Lego started producing these Connect and Build Pens.  As stated, I was collecting everything Lego Star Wars and these were Lego, Star Wars and Minifigures.  So I collected them.  Ha.  I stopped the collection and never quite finished, but I found these today and decided to finish it up.  See the ones that I currently have in the picture below and the 6 that I am missing at the bottom of the post.

Lego Star Wars Pen Minifigures

They came out with a few designs that they never released in minifigure form and some of them were pretty useful for customizing.    The Chrome Jango helmet for example.

Also, if you are looking for a Chrome c-3po on a budget, this one can be had for about 10 bucks on eBay.  It is not perfect, but it is better than nothing if you do not want to spend $500 bucks.

Lego Star Wars Pen Minifigures Chrome C-3PO - Minifigure Pen

I just pulled the figures from the pens and threw out the rest of the pieces since they were impossible to display as pens.  Some of the pieces are pretty neat and they are all interchangeable.

Well, what do you think? Do they belong in a proper minifigure collection or not?  In all fairness, I should warn you that these are not of the same quality as regular lego minifigures.  It is very unfortunate that lego put out a product like this and that they did not keep the quality level the same.

I am planning to add the to the priceguide with the other 7500 figures once I get the last few of these.

Bricklink has 42 different Star Wars pen sets, but alot of them are duplicates.

Additionally, some of them have the word Lego written on the back like this and some do not.  You will have no way of knowing until the set is opened.  Because of this, I did not worry about variations in this way.  You can see this below.  Also note the different color variations as well.  For these two reasons, I will just list one for each figure and not worry about these two items.  If any one knows of a good list that has all of these variations, let me know.

Here are the rest that I am currently missing for a few more minutes.  Do you know of any others.

Emerald City Comic Con Crusader Lego Minifigures – Are these real?

This year at the Emerald City Comic Con in March, a pair of “Exclusive Lego” Minifigures were released at the show.  They were clearly marked as custom printed minifigures, but they are also a convention exclusive.  So what is your thought?  Do you consider them collectible or not?  What do you think?

Lego Emerald City Comic Con Crusader 1 in 500 Exclusive Minifigure Set

I was on the fence on this set, but I decided to pick up a set since they were con exclusives and they were limited to 500 sets.  I am going to add them to the database this weekend, but I am still trying to decide where.  Custom or Lego figures.

Here is the exact one that I bought.  I think he is now selling the last on on ebay that I can find.

Here is the advertisement that the Emerald City comic con had on their web page.

Here is a picture of a custom display case that a user is selling on eBay.  I may pick one of these up for my set.

Here are a few additional images of this figure that they had on the website as well.  I cannot find them on the site anymore?  Did they take them down?  I am not sure.  They are probably planning for the conference next year already.

Just saw this posted to the Lego Club Website.  You may need to login to see the contest as the page is no longer directly available.  This is a contest to win the largest official Lego set that I have ever seen.  It appears that they will only be making one or two of these, but it is a huge set!  I cannot even imagine opening this and how heavy it must be.

It looks like it will contain 92 minifigures.  Can you imagine?  Are any of them unique?  If so, they will quickly make it to the top 100 list of rare minifigures here.

Here are the contest details as well.  I sure hope that the winner take a scale picture so we can see how large this set is.  I do wonder if this is just a mock up, of if they are really going to put all of these sets in on enormous box?

Mega Bloks Star Trek should be on display at SDCC 2014

I just heard that Mega Bloks is getting the Star Trek line again.  That is pretty neat.  I though we were done when Kreo all but abandoned the Star Trek sets and did not even finish releasing them all in the US.

Collider posted an image of a potential set here.

Here is an article from February of 2015 announcing the new line.   Here is an update about SDCC.

Kreo did manage to release 43 figures before calling it quits and I thought that they did a pretty good job.
