Kay M sent me a few pictures of her minifigure collection this week.  her collection currently consists of the following

  • Series 1 to 16
  • Disney
  • UK Olympic set (One of my favorites)
  • Simpsons Series 1 and 2
  • Some additional Star Wars and the Batman Series

Her figures are prodly displayed on the shelves that you see below.  Kay stated that these shelves were custom made by a friend of hers and I think that they look great!

These appear to solve the dust problem quite nicely with a clear plexiglass front.  It also looks like it will keep small interested hands out as the fronts look like they are screwed on.  That is a very sophisticated locking mechanism for small children!  🙂

This reminds me of a funny story.  I was having a party once in my back yard for my son that was still in pre-school  and I walked over to see three small children (3-5)  looking through the slats of my backyard deck at a pile of minifigures that they had pushed through the slats and were now forever gone in a file of mud 2 feet under my deck.  Their was no reasonable way to get to this part of the deck underneath.  I quickly ran into the house and looked at my display shelf only to discover those very same figure missing.  🙁  I was so mad, but the kids were just doing what kids do.  Playing with legos.  In an effort to right the wrong, I quickly went to bricklink and recorded the abandoned minifigures.  However, last year, I replaced my deck and while they were tearing up the old one, I was able to recover the old weathered minifigures.  I kept them as a memento and put them on display with the others.

Hats off to Kay as these shelves look great and offer a great solution to displaying the minifigures.  It also looks like she can get one Series per a shelf.  Kay looks like she will need her friend to make a forth one shortly as she is running out of room!

Kay also mentioned that the front of the case it curved to allow for viewing from different angles.  I bet this also helps with taking a picture.  I always need to take the glass or plexiglass off of mine to take a picture to eliminate the glare.  🙂

Case # 1 includes Series 1 – 7 and the Disney Series

Case #2 includes Series 8 to 14 and the Olympic set

Case # 2 includes Series 15 and 16, Batman Movie Series and Simpsons Series 1 and Series 2.  It also includes a few miscellaneous Star Wars figures.

Christina said that she is missing three figures.  Can you tell which ones?

I am continuing my latest attempt to post nice looking minifigure collections and displays.  If you have a collection to display, please message me on facebook with some pictures and I will post your collection also!

Christina M (facebook) sent me these great looking photos of her Harry Potter Minifigure and Set collection.  She has also come up with a great way to display these as well.  She has even come up with an interesting way to hang the sets on the wall using display shelves.  She even added her cat into the display!!!! lol.

As I stated above, Christina said that she is missing three figures.  Can you see which ones?  Please post a comment if you can find them.  Either comment below, or on the Facebook post.  Christina said the she does have the new dimensions figures, but that they are not in the display yet, so we are looking for three classic minifigures that are missing.

Here is a picture of how that these are displayed on the wall.  Note the security guard watching over the collection!

Here is a picture of an awesome MOC that she has as well

Here are a few more close ups of the figures.

Thanks for looking

I see Harry Potter, Star Wars, LOTR’s, Hobbit, Simpsons and other Collectible Minifigures and Super Heroes.  Surat said that he purchased these frames from the store and custom made shelves for them.  They look really really nice.

Here are some more images of his collection.

As always, thanks for looking and I hope you have enjoyed these collections over the past few weeks.

I have been having a great time getting images from readers of their collections.  This has always been one of my favorite parts about collecting Lego Minifigures.  Trying to figure out how to display the minifigures.

I am always searching for new ways and people come up with so many novel and unique ways to display their minifigures and I am constantly seeing new ideas.  Today’s collection is actually a brand new idea that I have never seen before.  I do not even think I have seen anything close to this one before.

Today’s collection come from Jimmy Wyble.  Jimmy is an IT professional like myself and he has a company called Bluewire Technology.  It is funny how many IT people collect minifigures.  🙂  I am starting to think that we are attracted to organizing Lego Minifigures for some reason.  lol

As you can tell from the images above, Jimmy has used Stor Slat shelving solutions for his display.  Like I said earlier, this is an idea that I have not yet seen and I have seen Quite a few.  Jimmy said that he picked his shelves up from FireFly Solutions.

“All slatwall and shelving was purchased from firefly store solutions. 2×8 ft slatwall sheets. 15″, 9″ and 7.52″ shelves. Minifigure has display slot in front for signage”

Here are some more photos if his display.

Jimmy also gave us a few pictures of his Lego room as well.  Please see below.

Jimmy looks to be a huge collector!  As always, please send me your collection pictures and I will post them.  No collection is too big or too small!

Thanks for looking

A reader Steve from Germany sent me some photos of his collection.  See below.  He has found another case that I have not seen that is very similar to the IKEA Ribba frame.  He said that he picked the small cases up at this store here.  He has quite a large wall of these and they look stunning together.

Here is an individual frame with the Disney figures.

Here are some labeled Star Wars figures.  This case is huge!

Batman!

Here is a picture of the small display case from the website where he picked these up.

Thanks for looking and please send me pictures of your collection when you get a chance!

I meant to do this post Sunday night, but I ended up working on on my real job instead.  🙁  This is another great collection that reader Tushar Dadarwala sent me some pictures of and I must say it looks fabulous!  Tushar is an IT professional like myself and he even has his own web page here.  I have found that quite a few IT people like to collect Lego figures.  I bet a psychologist could tell us why!  lol.

Tushar sent me a few pictures and some information about his shelf.  I must say that everytime I see a new way to display Lego minifigures, I say to myself, I should have done it that way!  So many awesome ideas exist!  As always, please message me on facebook if you have a collection to display and I will post it in a feature article.  No collection is too big or too small!

Per Tushar – here is a description of his case.  He even sent me a video demo of the case lighting system!

See below.

“Wooden case is 5’x3′, plexiglass doors and LED lighting. I had is commissioned by Aryow Studios.
Here is the YouTube video of this same exact case. He posted it after completion.

5’x3′ – Display

Display also has another row of pegs on top of the case (can also be used to display MFs)

The German soccer team case:
– IKEA ribba frame
– my own brick built shelf system for the MFs

The Olympic Team

Here are a few more pictures of Tushar’s Display cases!

Finally, I goggled the web page address for Arrow Studios, the person that made the above shelf.   Here is the price list if you are interested in looking.

Collectors Corner – How do you display your minifigures – This is how Claus Displays his

Two readers posted pictures of their collections on my facebook page yesterday and I reached out to both of them to get some better pictures and to learn a little more about their display cases.

The first reader, Claus Mayr-Zaininger used multiples of a pretty nice looking case that I have never seen before.  He said that he picked this case up in German on this site here.   This is the actual display case listing here.  It looks to be about 24 Euro’s each.    I will be posting pictures of the second reader’s case later tonight!

Here is a picture of Claus’s complete display.  These cases hold 24 figures each and really come together nicely.   If you notice in his display, he actually turned the cases and displayed them in portrait mode.

Here are a few more detail up close images of his collection!  Notice the Mr Gold tucked in the display!

Olympic and Soccer Players

Mr Gold!

Finally, here is the box that the display case is shipped in.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed this collection as much as I did.  If you have a collection of a display case to share, I would love to see it!  Just send me an email or message me on Facebook.
