Lego Toy Story Woody Prototype or Pre-Production figure

I also received this picture from a reader last week and I wanted to get this one posted to see what you all thought of this one?   This figure came from a reliable source that has provided a few other pretty neat figures and it looks spot on.

Lego Prototype Woody Minifigure Pre Production without Printing

In my opinion, this is probably a figure that was pulled before the printing was applied.  Have you seen others like this?

I am not sure if any other differences exist with the figure other than having the printing removed.

The lego Toy Story figures were one of the first licensed lines that they started deviating from the standard minifigure for a more detailed look.  I know that some people do not care for these, but I think it really opened up the possibilities of what we can expect from Lego.

Here are a few pics from over on lego.wikia of the clay prototypes of Stinky Pete and Woody.  This would be a neat item to collect!

Below is a video of my Toy Story figure collection.  I believe it is complete and I even have a few that you may not have bothered to collect!  I have struggled with how to display these since they are so tall.

Lego Store Female Employee Minifigure Variant

I received a picture of these wto figures from a reader and it appears to be a female variant of the recent Employee Minifigure that we have seen.

Here is a picture of both of these that was submitted by the reader.

From the little that I have been able to find online, this figure does not appear to have been a promo or a giveaway, but rather a perk for the Female Lego Store Employees?  I also heard that it was supplied without the head and that the head was just chosen from the pick a figure bins.  However, no fact here.  Just rumors.  Do any of you know anything about this one?  Please let me know.

Obviously the Legs are the same.  But the Torso appears to be unique and new.  The lines on the front are curved and the neck and the badge appears different as well.  Finally, the figure does not appear to have arm printing.

Here is the promo package that appears to have been a giveaway in some of the European countries.  I am not sure if it was a giveaway in the US.  I just picked one of these up on eBay for 8.99  🙂

Harry Potter Figures with Lego Printed on Back of Torso Does anyone have any information

I recently picked up these two Lego Harry Potter Torsos that have the Lego Logs written on the back of them.  It appears that these are the only ones in the Harry Potter line that have this.

Does anyone know where these come from?  When or why were they produced?  Were the included in some sort of promotion?  I anyone knows, please drop me a message via Facebook or on the Discus message below.

The appear to be the same as the torsos that come in these two figures except that they have the Lego Logo on the back.

A few people have commented on Facebook and it appears that these are keychain Torsos that made it out of the factory before being spiked with the keychain hook.

New Max Lego Club Minifigure KidsFest 2014 in USA

I do not know a great deal about this figure other than that he is a new variety of the Club Max figure.  It appears that he was given away in 2014 at two different events.  How many of you have received this figure?

I am not sure how many of these were given away.  I just recently came across this in a recent purchase.  I have checked eBay to see if any others are for sale and I am only finding this one.

Space Astronaut Minifigure that flew on Space Shuttle and the International Space Station

Today I saw the coolest thing that I have ever seen on the Lego Reddit page.  User Syntriphics on reddit posted this picture of one of his Lego figures that was flown on the Space Shuttle Discovery to the International Space Station.  You can see this post here on reddit.

I read though all of the comments and it appears that his uncle was one of the Astronauts that flew on this mission and took the figure to space for the Original Poster.

As I read through the comments, I saw a few interesting comments.  More have been ebing added all day.  I suggest and even ask that you take a look at the post on reddit and give him an upvote as this is the coolest thing that I have ever seen on the Lego Reddit page!

  • The figure was taken to outer space especially for the original poster.
  • The figure was put in a small plastic bag because they were afraid that the pain might flake off in Zero Gravity.
  • It’s hard to fathom exactly how rare it is for someone to be an astronaut. There are about 3 times as many billionaires on Earth right now as there have been astronauts throughout history. Know anyone whose uncle is a billionaire? The owner of this minifigure is an even rarer breed.

The certificate of Authenticity reads as follows.

“This Lego Astronaut was flown for ******* aboard the United States Space Shuttle Discovery to the International Space Station.  Discovery launched at 11:59 p.m. EDT, August 29, 2009, from Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.  At 8:53 p.m. EDT, September 11,2009, Discovery landed at Edwards Air Force Base, California having traveled 217 Earth orbits.

Discovery reached and altitude of 213 Miles and a speed of 17.5000 miles per hour.  The flight duration lasted 13 days, 20 hours, 53 minutes, 45 seconds covering a total distance of 5,702,716 statute miles”

 

We have heard about a few other minifigures that have made it to space.

I believe that Nasa flew 300 of these up into space.  I have been trying to find more information out about these.  But the general idea is that 300 of these figures were flown up into the space station and then given away? as prizes or something like that.   I know of two varieties that exist.  Here is one of them.

We all saw a teaser a few months ago.  Now we have an official minifigure picture.  I am not sure if this is a licensed figure or not.  Since we are getting a movie, I guess it should be considered as such.  🙂

Lego Dimensions Unique Licensed Figures from Wave One

EDIT:  I missed one.  Gimli has a new head as well.  🙁  I just went and picked one up.  I will add pics later.

Lego Dimensions Gimli head is different

I picked up all of the starter Pack, Fun Packs and Team Packs from wave one that fit the following criteria.

  • Were not Chima or Ninjago
  • Were not Jurasic Park
  • Were Licensed
  • I thought that they may be unique

I picked up some of these from Amazon, some from Best Buy and Some from Toys R Us.

I also picked up the Starter Pack with Batman, WyldStyle and Gandalf.  All in all, I picked up 12 figures including the ones that come in the Starter pack.   I also picked up quite a few vehicles, but I do not have time to look at those today.

Of the 12 figures that I looked at in Wave on, my original prediction was pretty close.  I was wrong on a few points as follows.

  • Gandalf is sporting a new head
  • WildStyle is not new
  • Bad Cop is not new

So we ended up with 7 new or different licensed figures in Wave 1.

As expected, Portal is a unique figure.  This one is 29.99 on Amazon.

Scooby has a new head with his tongue sticking out.  The New figures is on the left in all cases for comparison.  This set is 24.99 on Amazon.

The next two figures are from the Starter Pack.  This is the most exspensive item that I purchased at 99 on Amazon.

I stopped by Toys R Us today and the shelves were still full at 3:00 PM.
