I love it when I find some Lego elements that I either missed completely or skipped for one reason or another when they came out years ago.    These Elephants are just one of those items.    They are very detailed and they are pretty close to being minifig scale as well.

The Lego Elephants came in two different colors.  Dark Gray and Light Gray as you can see in the pictures.

Each of the colors came in one set each as shown below.  Link is to Amazon to see the set descriptions.

7418 Scorpion Palace had the light Gray Elephant

7414 Elephant Caravan for the Dark Gray Elephant

Here are all of the elephants listed over on eBay.  Scroll down to about the $50 mark.  See here.

Each included 19 pieces and was quite an interesting build.

I have been watching this particular figure closely over the past few weeks and I noticed that we do not have many more Mr Gold Figures listed on eBay.  They have all sold.  This figure is getting harder and hard to locate as time goes on.  They are all snugly tucked away in peoples collections!  You would think that 5000 would be enough to go around, but it does not appear to be the case!  In my hunt for some that are still for sale, I found these four over on Amazon in the US.    See them here.

I am still on the fence as to what this figure is selling for.  I currently have him listed on my site at about $1800 as a reference price.  I checked eBay and none are currently available as of this posting.  See here.  Only custom Mr Golds.

I then looked at sold items on eBay and saw these here with prices ranging from about 999 to about 2400.  This is a pretty big range and it is hard to say what this one will sell at next.   You can see all of the sold items here.

Finally, the last two sold over on Bricklink in January for about $1300 each.  This is definitely a pretty penny for a small piece of Plastic.
