Mega Bloks is re-acquiring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle licence and Lego is losing it. No more Lego TMNT minifigures.

In a recent press release you can see here, Mattel has announced that they will be producing Mega Bloks sets for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line starting in 2016.  Lego retiring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets

Lego has produced about 52 minifigures since they started producing sets for this line in 2012.  You can see the full list of minifigures here.

Additionally, two of the figures are exclusive figures that were produced in limited quantities for the 2012 NY Toy Fair, Shadow Leonardo and Battle Damaged Kraang.  Both of these figures are among the top 100 most expensive Lego Minifigures ever produced.

According to the press release, Mega Bloks will be producing TMNT starting in 2016.  FOr those of you that remember, Mega Bloks had this license a few years back and they produced some pretty nice sets.  I do have a copy of all of their minifigures and I will post them here later.
