Is it just me, or do they make these contests a little hard for 8 year olds.  I think it should be obvious.  This one is a little easier, but it is nothing like the find the gold c-3po that I posted a few months ago here

?Welcome to the Death Star, the unstoppable battle station of the mightty Empire.  Here, the empire’s legions of stormtroopers work, train, and even relax (as long as Lord Vader does not catch them doing it!).

But the emporer also has recruited an elite squad of dark armored Shadow Troopers to carry out his most secret and sinister missions throughout the galaxy.  Each one is trained to be a master of stealth and sneekiness.”

Though you may like this.  It is a pretty nice picture all by itself as well.  I really like the Stormtrooper with coffee on falling down the front of his uniform.

A few sites have posted the image below of the new Lego Simpsons KWIK-E-MART set that should be released in April.  It also has a picture of at least four of the figures that will be coming in that set.

Found on Instagram https://instagram.com/p/zzwxaGDZO4/ via https://instagram.com/jcbricks/

Per the instagram post, this image was taken from jcbricks, but I cannot find it at that link.

I am not sure if these figures are exclusive, but most likely they will be as that is a sure fire way for Lego to sell more of these sets!

I see the following minifigures on the box art.  We may see a few more once the set is confirmed.

I also see Homer, if you count the top of his head and I am sure that a few more exist.  If you look at the original images, you will see him at the bottom right by the garbage can.

YoYo and Amazon Contest to Win Lego Batman and Joker Mural worth $4000

This post and site contains Affiliate links. I may earn a small commission if you click on them. Click here for more details.

YoYo Amazon Contest to win 4000 dollar Lego Batman Joker MuralI received this email today from Amazon for a contest to win the above Batman joker Mural.  YoYo is asking for a picture of your child’s creation as you entry.  However, if you read the contest details, it does not matter if you send a creation picture or just a card with your name on it as this is a random drawing.

“NO PURCHASE, PAYMENT OR PHOTO UPLOAD OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. A PURCHASE, PAYMENT OR PHOTO UPLOAD WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.”

If you look at the description above, it states that the Mural is a Lenticular Mural which means “Lenticular printing is a technology in which lenticular lenses (a technology that is also used for 3D displays) are used to produce printed images with an illusion of depth, or the ability to change or move as the image is viewed from different angles.” Or that it changes depending on which angle that you are looking at it.

I have seen a few of these in the pastat Brickworld Chicago.  Here are a few Examples I found on YouTube.  I believe that the Snow White one is pretty recent and just surfaced in the past few months.

According to the artist on his Flickr Page concerning the Snow White Mosaic …  “Built using over 14,000 cheese slopes and about 1,000 tiles (the area is 128 studs across x 128 studs down).  The lenticular effect is achieved through the use of ‘cheese slopes’ – LEGO element 54200. By laying the slopes in alternate directions with the ‘top’ surface facing left or right, you get a different image in each direction. Each image consists of slopes that have been placed on every second (vertical) column of studs down the baseplate.  I tried using Pictobrick to convert each image to pixels I could ‘colour’ with slopes, but it produced results that assumed I had the full spectrum of colours ever produced by LEGO at my disposal. Sadly, ‘cheese slopes’ only come in around 30 solid colours and I couldn’t work out how to change the Pictobrick settings to reflect this. (I’ve never been technically minded when it comes to computer programs and I would love to know if someone out there knows how to modify Pictobrick to restrict the colour range). So a lot of this picture was done by eye and trial and error.”

Here are the contest details in Summary from Here.

I wonder if they are going to Tax the winner for the full value if this.  If so, does thta mean it will cost you $1000 to take posession of this prize?   I wonder what this would sell for on eBay?

As we stated earlier, Mega Bloks is getting the licence for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sets starting in 2016.  You can read about that here.

Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comple Collection All Figures

In honor (or not so honor), I thought I would dig up all of my old Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Minifigrures and add them to the price guide.

http://www.minifigpriceguide.com/TMNTMB.0.html – Click to see the full list of thumbnails.

In doing this, I realized that I am missing one variation of Donatello and as someone that does not like anything missing, this is going to keep me up at nights.  🙂  I am Going to have to scour eBay for this.

Mega Bloks released a handfull of sets back in early 2002 – 2005 that were really nice.  I grabbed these because Lego did not have any Turtle Minifigures and the heads fit pretty nicely.  You can see the full list of sets with a picture at the end of this article.

I went over all of the instructions again and listed out all of the figures in the price guide.  It appears that we have 13 instead of the original 8 that I thought that Mega Bloks made.  It appears that the foot soldier came in two varieties and that each of the turtles came with either a large or a small head.   Here are images of the figures.

The two different Leonardo’s

Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo Small Head Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo Large Head

Notice the different sized heads.  It appears that Mega Bloks must have had two different factories with different molds at some point.  The size difference is pretty noticeable when the figures are side by side.  I would estimate that it is about 33% bigger.  I am not sure if this is a quality control issue, or a different series all together.

The two different Michelangelo’s

The two different Rafeal’s – The different head sizes are very obvious in these two pictures.  The large head variety looks pretty bad.

Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rafeal Small Head Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Rafeal Large Head

And the two different Donatello’s – I grabbed a screen shot from a video review of this set on You Tube.  I was a bit irritated to see that they had two variations of each of these.  I will need get this one.

Finally, we have Splinter and the Imperial Foot Soldier

Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splinter 1421

The Imperial Foot Soldier is virtually impossible to find.  Additionally when I did find it, the set was going for over $100.  I believe that they only released this set in very limited numbers and that no one cared to save them.  I finally found one in an eBay auction of a bung of Turtle sets for $30 and I decided to pull the plug and get it.  But it took me over a year to find it.

Mega Bloks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Imperial Foot Soldier 1407

I am not positive if the Imperial Foot Soldier in 1406 and 1407 are identical and I am not sure that I will ever know.  If anyone knows, please send me a note on the contact us form.

The sets listed below were just ok other than the combat Lair.  The combat Lair set was awesome and is still one of my favorite sets.  Additionally, the weapons that came with these figures were way better than the weapons that came with the Lego sets.  Now, with that said, the Lego figures as you would expect were of much better quality.  It was not even close.  They took the head design that Mega Bloks had and made it much better and cleaner.  It is also nicer to see the machine printed figures as I believe that the Mega Bloks ones are painted by hand or at least with a messy machine.

I saw this collection over on ebay this morning and I decided to pull up all of my links and add these to the price guide.     I have been collecting links of these over the past 2 years since I am pretty sure that I am not going to be able to add any of these to my collection. due to how expensive that they are.

I have found about 51 of these so far and I believe that I may still be missing a few.  But not too many.

Based on the price and the rarity of these, I am just going to make a virtual collection of these.    I will continue to look for more of these and add them as I find the.    Click on one of the links below to see the full collection.

Lego TT Games Acrylic Minifigure Trophy Complete List

http://www.minifigpriceguide.com/TTGAMES.0.html

These special Minifigure bricks are created by TT Games to mark the end of the development cycle for each of their Lego Video Games.    Each of the bricks features a Title, The Lego Logo, A place for the minifigure to stand, The game that it is commemorating and the release date.  It also appears that the bricks are able to be stacked on top of each other as you can see in the pictures.

According to Brickset, in an article published last year…

These acrylic bricks are only given to employees of TT Games if they have made a significant contribution to the production of one of their published LEGO titles

In that same article, it spoke about Fairy Bricks raffling one of these off for charity.   I believe that this went for a crazy price here.  $1069.00.  WOW!

This block was raffled off for charity by Fairy Bricks

I have not seen one of these up close, but as far as I can tell, the minifigure is inside of the trophy and is not able to be takes out.  You can see for yourself in the images and video below.  In the video it is pretty clear that the figure is sealed, and I assume that it is like this in all of the trophy’s.

Here is a listing on eBay that has some detailed pictures of a Captain Rex Trophy which I have included below to show the full picture around one of these figures.

Here is a video of that figure as well, and it definitely looks like it is stuck inside the trophy.

Here are a few of the other links that I found on eBay.

This is a collection for 12K pounds.  It is a pretty big collection, but it may be a little bit too expensive.  This is probably a programmer’s collection fro TT Games.

You can also see a relatively large collection of these over here from the TT Games office.

Here is a pic from Flickr as well of another collection.   This is from Carl Greatrix Flickr Account.  Carl Greatrix is a Senior Model Designer at TT and a good friend of Fairy Bricks.  From his Flickr page, he states that he posted these to promote Fairy Bricks.

Unique bricks only supplied to those of us involved on the game projects, so needless to say quite highly coveted. These are the 10 I’ve had so far (more on the way!).The reason for posting these up, is to try and promote a charity auction for Fairy Bricks. These guys do a superb job of gaining as much money as possible , purchasing LEGO and then giving it to childrens hospitals. A very worthy cause. TT have very kindly supplied a game brick (which are impossible to get hold of) purposely for the intention of auctioning it off via Fairy Bricks. With Flickrs rules and regs I’m not sure I can link to either the “well known internet auction site” or even FairyBricks chairty site, so if you search I’m sure you will find it.  PLEASE, try and spread the word with this on all media sites and lets see if we can get these guys some good funding.  Cheers.

They sound like a really good cause.

Here is a recent picture from Arthur Parson’s Twitter page.  They look pretty nice.  I think that I see 5 more that I have not added to the price guide yet.  🙂

Lego has produced about 52 minifigures since they started producing sets for this line in 2012.  You can see the full list of minifigures here.

According to the press release, Mega Bloks will be producing TMNT starting in 2016.  FOr those of you that remember, Mega Bloks had this license a few years back and they produced some pretty nice sets.  I do have a copy of all of their minifigures and I will post them here later.

LEGO 19″ Display Figure Brand New in the Box. I always wondered where these came from

This post and site contains Affiliate links. I may earn a small commission if you click on them. Click here for more details.

A few of these have surfaced in the past on Ebay and I have always wondered where they come from and how people get them.  I know that they must come from Lego as Store Displays, but it is pretty neat to see these in the package from Lego.  I was also wondering if they had these created from another company or if they were produced by Lego.  It looks like Lego must make them and ship them out to the stores.Lego 19 inch minifigure store display box

I recently posted about the largest collection of these that I have ever seen here

http://minifigpriceguide.com/wordpress/lego-19-inch-giant-store-display-collection-of-minifigures-over-45/

The above link takes you to the largest collection of these figures that I have ever seen for sale at any one time.  It looks like he has about 45 of these for sale for a whopping $60,000.

I found the figure below on eBay where it is currently for sale for about $775 here
