One of the things that I love about collecting Lego minifigures is the variety of Lego minifigures and the Story behind each one of the convention or limited edition site minifigures.  I really enjoy scouring the web and trying to locate the history behind them and putting all of the pieces together.    Especially when I find one that I missed completely!

BrickPirate 2013 Limited Edition Lego Minifigure – His name is “Sam”

Yesterday, I cam across this minifigure on Flickr here.  User Gael Bucher posted this picture of a pirate scene that he found while attending Fana’brique 2016 in France.  See here.  This is a Lego Show in France that was from June 24th to June 26th.

I reached out to Gael and asked what he knew about this minifigure and he said that it was a an exclusive that was created by the French Lego Forum Brickpirate.  See here.

www.brickpirate.net/forum/phpBB3/index.php

I poked around a little until I came across this here.   This was posted in 2013, so we are late to the game and they are all gone.  🙂

I am sad that I missed one, and now I will need to look elsewhere.  If you have one that you would like to trade, let me know!

The BrickPirate forum created this minifigure as a limited edition promotional item to help finance their site and servers!  Very nice idea!  I would have bought one for sure!

finance the server hosting the forum currently these fees are paid out of personal funds / private and represent a significant burden. Quality accommodation and a good bandwidth are the indispensable conditions to meet the functioning of the forum. The benefits will also support the communication tools of Lego BrickPirate stands at exhibitions, or other goodies projects.”

And here were the details of the figure.

“first, the minifig will be reserved for members of the forum (a minifig per person in the first place). The reservation will be effective upon receipt of payment. Delivery can be made at Lego exhibitions at Mulsanne in May or in June Fanabriques, even to the extent possible when CaféLego and RestoLego / Picnic Lego this summer. Secondly, the sale may be on an auction site (at a fixed price). For those who wish, a mailing will be considered (in letter followed) for € 2 extra.”

I believe that the price was 8 Euros originally, but I am not certain.  So if that is the case, it would have been 10 Euro’s with shipping.  Such a deal!

I also did a few Flickr Searches and found a few more images of this guy.  This is a good looking figure.  See them below.  These are links to Flickr.

Lego IDEA Conference 2011 Minifigure

I saw this minifigure posted online back in April and I reached out to the poster to see if he could send me a better picture.  Facebook user Allen T agreed and sent me these two photos.  I tried to look up where this was posted and I must have gotten distracted because I forgot to post it.   I recently receive a picture of a newer Lego Ideas minifigure and it reminded me of this one.

Thanks Allen T!

So, I am fixing that right now.  If anyone knows more about the origin of this minifigure, please let me know.  I would appreciate it.  I am guessing that it is from a Lego Ideas Conference or some sort of show from 2011 :), but I have come across so few of these, I am wondering if it was just an internal handout?

I was able to find the Torso listed on Bricklink as well, but nothing else.  See it here.

Thanks for looking

Brick Fiesta Houston Texas Minifigure Torso for the July 2016 show

This post and site contains Affiliate links. I may earn a small commission if you click on them. Click here for more details.

A reader of the site is one of the group of people running Brick Fiesta in Texas in July.   See here.  He was also  kind enough to send over a copy of the very limited minifigure torso that was created for the show that is happening from July 7th to July 10th this summer.  I have not seen any pictures of the torso anywhere yet, but they gave me the green light to post it yesterday.  So here it is.

Brick Fiesta Houston Texas 2016 Minifigure Torso (3)

The public part of the show is July 9th and July 10th.  Please see here for details.  He also mentioned that the minifigure torso is limited to 300 copies and comes in a few different colors.  Black and Red are the most rare, while blue is the most common color.

They were selling these up until May 27th, but I heard that they may have a few at the door, so if you are in Texas and anywhere near Houston, I would try to attend the show.

I took a few liberties with the torso and combined it it with a Benny Minifigure with some GB blue boxing gloves to see how it looked!  I think it turned out pretty well.  I was also trying to match the Poster that Brick Fiesta created for their show as well.

Lego BrickFiest Houston Texas 2016

The torso has a very neat fiesta logo that is created to look like the classic space logo and it also have the following writing on the back in white letters.

Here is the actual torso.   Mine has a little scratch in it.   🙁  Just ignore that, you can barely see it until the flash exaggerated it.

Brick Fiesta Houston

Brick Fiesta has been doing this show since 2011 and they rotate to each of the different cities in Texas each year.  Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio.  They have not been in Houston since 2012!

Here are a few highlights from the web site.

“Adults and children alike will be in awe of the amazing LEGO creations on display in this 32,000 sq. ft. area. From massive train, city, & space layouts to unbelievable micro-scale models, from highly detailed works of art to pop culture references, and everything in between, everyone is sure to have a great time.  You can look at the displays, meet, and talk with the builders about their creations. There will also be a number of vendors who will have hard to find & discontinued LEGO sets, loose brick & LEGO elements (available by the piece or in bulk), custom LEGO compatible elements & accessories, books, & apparel. You will even be able to buy a custom drawn caricature of yourself as a LEGO minifigure.”

Wanted to pick up- Rare Minifigures on my Buy List – Harry Potter, Comic Con, Toy Fair, Conventions, Castle Etc.

This post and site contains Affiliate links. I may earn a small commission if you click on them. Click here for more details.

Wanted – email shawn@minifigpriceguide.com

I have been meaning to create this list for a while and I have been procrastinating creating it.  I and a few other collectors that I know are currently looking for some of the following figures.  For many of them, we are just looking for the individual figures and for some, we are looking for complete or partially complete sets of these figures.    If you are a collector and you have too many, or you are looking to mix things up a little, please email me at shawn@minifigpriceguide.com and I will get back to you and let you know if one of us are interested.

I am not brokering or buying and selling figures.  I am interested in some and some of my firends are also interested in some.  If you have a large collection, I may be able to connect you to someone that is interested.  We are collectors like you are and not buyers and sellers, so we do have a limit as to what we can buy at any time.

Also, I will be updating this post on a regular basis, so check back.  If you have something that is not on this post and it is rare or unique or Exclusive pop me an email.  I may be interested.

Finally, if you are looking for some of these figures, email me as well and I will pass your email on to people that are looking to sell them if we are not interested.

I am looking for any and all Lego Prototype minifigures that exist.  If you have some and you want to sell them, please contact me.  If you have some that I do not know about and you would willing to share a picture, please contact me as well.

There are only two of these minifigures in existence, which were randomly given away to an order from the US or Canada with selected Star Wars sets ordered during the promotion. This minifigure had torso, leg, head and helmet/jetpack pieces, all of which are solid bronze.”  You can read more about this one here.

Brick Loot Custom LEGO Minifigure LIMITED EDITION #1.  I saw this minifigure here a few weeks ago and I just could not stop myself.  The figure met a few qualities.

20160318_182049 - Copy

  • It looks really cool
  • It is a promotional item advertising a business
  • It was numbered to rope us collectors in.
  • It looks like they may make another one
  • It is cheap!  Only $9.99

On top of all that, I was looking for something to buy!  Can’t stop myself.  I am sure you know how it is.

I sometimes think that the promotional figures will be the ones that people are looking for in 50 years just like the buttons of days gone.  But who knows?  Here are a few of the other promotional figures that I have reviewed recently.  See here.

I liked the SpaceLab9 one in particular!

I opted to to get the signed card with my figure since they said that they would donate the extra $2.00 to the kid.  You can pick one up here if you are interested.

I also learned that Brick loot is in Illinois about 40 miles from me, so I thought that was pretty cool as well!

For those of you that do not know, brick loot is a monthly Lego subscription service.  Here is the description from their website.

What is BRICK LOOT?
